JAMES F. HUDGINS was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1943. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Houston in 1967 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1972.
Mr. Hudgins has practiced civil litigation since 1972 and is a founding member of the Firm. He maintains an active docket of complex civil litigation, involving products liability, medical malpractice, and mass tort litigation. He is a Certified Mediator and has mediated numerous cases to successful conclusions.
Mr. Hudgins also heads all Workers' Compensation litigation for the Firm under the former and the current acts for both subscriber and non-subscriber employers. He has appeared at a number of seminars involving both employers and claims professionals speaking on topics involving work place safety, employer’s liability and most recently on the various states’ workers’ compensation laws dealing with drugs in the work place.
Mr. Hudgins is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the College of the State Bar of Texas, and a Fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation.
He is active in the support of the T.H. Rogers School for the mentally and physically handicapped, the Be An Angel Foundation and other local charities. He is a lifetime member of the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo and a lifetime member of the Show’s Calf Scramble Committee.
